Adventure is Exciting
“Let’s go do something!” Terri suggested excitedly but still in soft
tones so as not to wake up the boys.
Now the others were wide awake! “Like what?” asked Cindy.
“I dunno, got any ideas?” Terri asked.
“Well, we could…” Rocki started, but then stopped to think before
going on. Finally she said, “I’ve got it! Let’s go pull out their tent poles. It’ll
cause their tent to collapse.”
“Great idea, Rocki, Let’s do it!” agreed Terri.
Cindy didn’t need any encouragement; she was the first one out of the
sack.
The girls slowly unzipped their tent door and quietly went out into the
night air. The moon had already set, making it very dark outside.
“I can’t see a thing,” commented Terri softly as she followed Cindy
and Rocki through the cold dew laded grass. She was trying to hang onto
Rocki’s waistband of her shorts.
“Open yer eyes!” Rocki whispered loudly.
“What?” Terri whispered back as if this was a new concept.
Cindy snickered; then got the giggles. The more she thought about it,
the harder it was for her to stop. Here they were, three grown women out
sneaking around in the dark and one of them can’t see. “This’ll never
work,” she muttered mostly to herself.
Rocki continued with the smart talk. “Yer supposed to have yer eyes
open when we do this,” she whispered.
“Yeah?” responded Terri.
“Shhh!” Cindy said more to herself than to the others, but she snorted
as she tried to stifle a snicker and almost blew her nose.
“Let go of me,” Rocki demanded in a whisper back to Terri.
“Why?” Terri whispered back.
“Because yer pulling my shorts down!” Rocki whispered back as she
desperately hung onto the front of her shorts.
Unable to restrain herself, Cindy laughed out loud. It was more of a
squeak than a laugh, but it was still heard by all. The twins knew they had
her and continued to play along with each other.
“If I let go, I’ll get lost,” Terri argued still in a whisper.
Just then Rocki stepped on a twig with her tender bare feet and broke
it. In doing so, it poked her and she stumbled forward into Cindy who
crashed into the picnic table she was trying to feel for.
“Ouch!” Rocki cried softly.
“Ooh!” cried Cindy as she bent over to rub her bruised shin.
“Shhh!” warned Terri still hanging on to Rocki. When Rocki suddenly
moved forward as she stumbled over the twig, Terri’s grasp of her shorts
almost pulled them down. Speaking in an almost normal tone of voice,
Terri announced, “Oh, look! I see some really white skin back here.”
“Shut yer eyes!” demanded Rocki barely in a whisper.
Cindy’s snickering turned into a down right choke as she tried not to
laugh out loud even though her leg hurt.
“Shhh,” warned Rocki, “you’ll wake them up.”
“Who?” asked Terri.
“You,” responded Rocki.
“I am wake,” Terri started to say.
“Not you, the guys,” Rocki said.
Ignoring her sister, Terri mumbled, “The moon is so bright back here, it’s
blinding me.”
Cindy found the picnic table bench and turned around and sat down
on it. Even though the two girls following her were right behind her, she
could only barely make out their silhouettes.
“Will you let go of me?” demanded Rocki.
“I’ve been blinded!” announced Terri as she let go of Rocki’s
waistband and started to grope around with her eyes shut.
“What are you doing?” laughed Cindy.
“I feel like I’ve had my picture taken and all I can see are stars,” replied
Terri.
“What?” Cindy asked, surprised by Terri’s answer.
“You know how when a camera flash goes off in your face?” Terri
started to ask.
“Oh, stop it already,” mumbled Rocki as she pulled her shorts back up
to her waist, “You were looking at the sky.”
“Where are we? Sister?” Terri called softly as she continued groping
around as if she were blind.
“Oh, open yer eyes,” Rocki told Terri.
“Is it safe?” Terri asked.
