Adventure is Exciting

The Find - Sample

Catalina was able to carefully work her way down to what seemed to be an edge of a cliff or something and shine the flashlight around.  She discovered they were at the entrance of an extremely large cave, or more correctly, an underground cavern.

The entrance was actually near the top of the cavern.  As she shined the flashlight around, Catalina was able to get some grasp of the magnitude of the size of the cavern they were about to enter.  It looked like the bottom was about a city block below and to the right.  The ceiling, which they were nearest to, was still about thirty feet up.  She guessed that the width was about a hundred and fifty, to two hundred feet wide.  They were actually near one corner, some fifteen feet away to the left.  The flashlight was not powerful enough to see the opposite side.  The rocky, boulder strewn floor slanted down sharply away and to the right from the entrance where they were, to what looked like a cave in the center of a flat, clear bottom. The bottom was about ninety feet to the left from the corner that was on their right.  They saw no stalactites or stalagmites as the place seemed very dry.

To say the place is huge is an extreme understatement.  The three girls were silent and stood motionless in the entrance of a vast underground cavern that seemed liked an endless mammoth tunnel that dwarfed them and their tiny flashlight.
